Vampirella #9
Dynamite's Vampirella #9 (2020) brings another chapter of Christopher Priest's "Seduction of the Innocent" arc, and Lucio Parrillo's painted cover sets a suitably harrowing tone — Vampirella, clad in her signature red costume and thigh-high boots, is dragged downward through a lurid green hellscape littered with skulls, a monstrous clawed hand pulling her toward what feels like oblivion. Parrillo's painterly craft gives the image a visceral, almost cinematic weight, with the swirling dark atmosphere pressing in around her as she strains against the grip. Interior art from Ergün Gündüz promises the same moody intensity carried through to the story itself.
