Warren's September 1973 super-special summer issue of Vampirella announced a milestone right on the cover: full color comics, at last. Enrich Torres painted a genuinely atmospheric cover — Vampirella herself crouches in her signature red costume and black boots, dark hair cascading forward, set against a looming gothic castle shrouded in eerie mist and circling bats.
