Vampirella #22

Vampirella faces a fearsome male vampire in a torchlit stone chamber on Josep Martí Ripoll's striking cover for this 1973 Warren Magazine entry — while two robed monks brandishing crucifixes close in from the shadows behind them. The cover copy promises a vampiress-versus-vampire battle for blood starting on page 54, and as a bonus this issue packs a special 8-page full-color Dracula comic section previewing a new Warren book. It's a richly atmospheric package that captures everything Warren horror fans loved about the line in 1973.
