Valentine #7 January 1961
In "I Wanna Go Home," Jean’s day spirals from a simple shampoo to a series of mishaps that test her patience and resolve. When her water cuts out just before a big audition, she convinces the maintenance man to help—only to find herself cast as a grubby housewife in a Peppo pill ad, scrubbing floors all afternoon. Back home, a burst pipe floods her flat, and after more mopping, she finds an unexpected connection with the very man who helped her earlier. Antonio Romero’s expressive artwork brings the quiet chaos of Jean’s day to life, capturing both her frustration and fleeting hope with warmth and humor.

Jean is in the middle of shampooing her hair when the water is cut off. Explaining that she is about to have her big chance to get in films, she talks the maintenance man into turning the water back on to allow her time to fix her hair. But when she gets to the studio, she discovers she is to be the 'before' housewife before taking Peppo pills and is made to look grubby anyway. After spending all afternoon scrubbing floors for the commercial, she walks out. At home, she discovers the mains have burst and her flat is flooded. After more mopping, she gets a date with the maintenance man.
