“Don't Make Me Cry”

In "Don't Make Me Cry," Sandra’s hopes for a future with her boss’s son are shattered when a single office visit delivers a crushing dismissal instead of a wedding announcement. Despite his promises and her trust, the truth behind his silence unfolds in a moment that leaves her stunned and heartbroken. Illustrated with emotional precision by José Bielsa, this poignant story captures the quiet devastation of misplaced faith and unspoken words.

Despite warnings about going out with the boss's son, Sandra does it anyway. They soon talk of marriage and when she sees him out with another girl, she assumes it is about business. She prods him to ask his father about their wedding and he says he will have everything fixed the next day. When the speaker in the office asks her to report to Mr. Williams' office, she assumes it is to announce that the wedding is fixed. Instead, she is given her notice.
