Love Story Picture Library #1446
"Girl on the Run" is a quiet, heartfelt tale from Love Story Picture Library #1446 (1977), a 12p comic that captures a fleeting connection between two wanderers. Lena, who’s never known a true home, finds unexpected kinship with Brian, a man whose roots lie in the English village of Little Fromley—though he’s never stayed there long. When tragedy strikes, Lena follows Brian’s memories to the town he loved, discovering it’s as he described, even if he’s not there to see it with her. The story’s gentle tone and emotional weight are underscored by its typeset lettering, a distinctive touch of the era.
