Usagi ist noch ein junger Schüler bei Meister Katsuishi, und noch ziemlich überheblich weswegen er auch in einem Übungskampf verliert. Geschlagen wird er zum Wasserloch geschickt wo er einen fremden trifft den Usagi ohne Grund angreift, doch geschickt weicht er ihm aus und er ist es der im Wasser landet und von ihm eine Lektion in Höflichkeit erteilt bekommt. Jahre später bedankt sich Usagi bei Tsukahara.
