Usagi learns that he and Yukichi are cousins. With a bounty placed on those who are loyal to Lord Mifune, the embittered students of the Paikonyaki School are emboldened to attempt to claim the bounty by besting Usagi in combat but Yukichi slays Takao, the master of the school. Yukichi decides to travel with Usagi and learn more about the world.
