Usagi Yojimbo #19

Stan Sakai's cover for this 1998 Dark Horse issue puts the rabbit ronin Usagi front and center, gripping a yumi bow with fierce determination, while a hulking rhinoceros warrior stands at his back, swords at the ready against a warm amber sky. The pairing radiates a sense of uneasy alliance — two very different fighters facing whatever lies ahead together. Part five of the "Grasscutter" saga, this chapter of one of comics' most beloved anthropomorphic epics is beautifully rendered by Sakai and colorist Luth.
