Usagi Yojimbo #17

Stan Sakai's cover for this 1998 Dark Horse issue puts the rabbit ronin Usagi front and center in a wide combat stance, blade drawn and ready, his expression fierce and focused. Looming behind him in the shadows are two menacing figures — a bearded samurai and a snarling, wild-eyed warrior — suggesting the dangers closing in around our hero. Part three of the "Grasscutter" arc, subtitled "Inazuma," promises the kind of tightly crafted feudal adventure that makes this series such a rewarding read.
