Usagi Yojimbo #125
Marking the series' 25th anniversary (1984–2009), this milestone issue of Usagi Yojimbo finds the rabbit ronin front and center in his blue kimono, sword gripped at the ready with steely determination, as a chaotic mob of armed anthropomorphic warriors — bulls, bears, and others — charges down the road behind him, with a green lizard darting across the foreground. Stan Sakai's artwork captures both the energy of the looming confrontation and the quiet resolve of a lone swordsman who isn't about to back down. "A Town Called Hell, Part 2" promises exactly the kind of tense, beautifully crafted samurai action that has kept this series going strong for a quarter century.
