Untold Tales of Spider-Man #7

Untold Tales of Spider-Man continues its mission of filling in the early chapters of Peter Parker's career with issue #7, cover-dated March 1996 and still carrying that reader-friendly 99-cent price tag. Pat Olliffe and Al Vey's cover puts Spider-Man front and center in a striking circular close-up — his masked face peering directly at the reader — while a collage of civilian figures in various states of panic and confrontation fills the background, suggesting our hero is very much the talk of the town. Kurt Busiek's story, "On the Trail of the Amazing Spider-Man!," promises exactly the kind of ground-level mystery the title does so well.
