The fifth issue of Untold Tales of I Hate Fairyland arrives with a cover that cheerfully announces itself as "unbelievable, unfortunately mostly unreadable, and nearly unpublishable" — and the artwork more than lives up to that billing. A wild-eyed, gap-toothed figure looms large with a manic grin, gleefully smashing through a chaotic pile-up of battered fairyland creatures, flying debris, and splattered gore in a gloriously over-the-top tableau. If you've been enjoying this irreverent Image series in 2023, issue five's cover alone makes a strong case that the mayhem is nowhere near finished.
