“They Called Me Shameless”

In "They Called Me Shameless," 17-year-old Marsha returns to the U.S. after a decade abroad, struggling to adjust to life back home. She forms a bond with Sally, and despite a rocky start, finds herself drawn to Sally’s brother Bill—only to learn he’s working as a mechanic, not in college. As misunderstandings give way to honesty, Marsha takes a job as a waitress to prove she’s not above hard work, and Bill comes to see her in a new light. A heartfelt story of class, connection, and growing up, told with quiet sincerity and brought to life by Bill Ward’s expressive cover art.
