That clawed, webbed hand emerging through a wash of crimson on Matthew Roberts' cover says everything you need to know about the tone of this third chapter — the Gill-man is very much still a force to be reckoned with. The intricate scaling and hooked talons rendered by Roberts make the Creature feel genuinely imposing, a monster worthy of the Universal legacy.
