Tower Comics' Undersea Agent #4 (August 1966) delivers a vivid deep-sea showdown on its Gil Kane cover: the red-suited, bubble-helmeted agent fights for his life in the grip of a massive green sea creature's clawed hand, ray gun drawn, while the beast's snarling, fanged head lunges at him from below. It's a great piece of Silver Age underwater adventure art, with Kane's dynamic figure work giving the struggle real physical urgency. Inside, Don Segall writes and Ray Bailey illustrates "To Save a Monster" — a title that promises the story is more than a simple monster-versus-hero slugfest.
