These early adventures pit the fledgling mutants against formidable foes including Magneto, the Vanisher, the Blob, and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, laying the groundwork for the X-Men's enduring legacy in Marvel Comics.
A 1993 Marvel classic, Uncanny X-Men Masterworks #1 kicks off with a gripping twist: Xavier’s mental powers are gone, leaving the X-Men to navigate leadership without their mentor. When Magneto sends the Toad to sabotage a track meet, the team must act fast—only to find themselves pulled into a high-stakes rescue on Asteroid M, where the Angel is held hostage. Written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Jack Kirby, with inks by Paul Reinman and Sol Brodsky, and cover art by Kirby and Giacoia, this issue blends suspense and classic team dynamics, all while setting up a bold test of loyalty and trust.
