“The Shattered World”

In "The Shattered World," the X-Men face a cosmic threat on the distant planet Hykon, where the enigmatic Lifecode governs brutal interstellar combat games that leave entire worlds in ruins. With writer Scott Gray and artists Nelson DeCastro and Scott Koblish crafting a tense, visually striking tale, the team devises a daring plan to bring the Knights of Hykon to their home citadel—where their power is stripped away—forcing a fight on equal ground. Cover by Reilly Brown captures the scale and urgency of the battle, as Xavier and the X-Men confront the Knights in a high-stakes showdown that reshapes their fate.

On the far off world of Hykon, Xavier encounters the Lifecode, a being who makes the rules of combat for the Knights of Hykon. From her, he learns that the Knights engage in games of combat all over the universe that end up wrecking the worlds they choose as battlegrounds. The X-Men lure the Knights back to their citadel where their displacement fields are nullified. Now on even ground, the X-Men battle the Knights of Hykon and even Xavier joins the fight. Lilandra destroys the Lifecode and the X-Men return to Earth, marooning the Knights forever on their home planet.
