Uncanny Tales #42
In "The Telepathic Typewriter," a lone lighthouse attendant faces a chilling encounter with mysterious Sirens who seek to keep the beacon dark, their presence only confirmed by the footprints left in the sand after a sudden fire breaks out from a knocked-over lamp. With haunting art by Bernie Krigstein and a striking cover by Carl Burgos, this 1956 tale blends eerie atmosphere and psychological tension in a story that lingers long after the final page.

A lighthouse attendant is accosted by Sirens who wish the beacon to remain unlit so passing ships will founder upon the reef, but as he backs away from them, he knocks over a table lamp which starts a fire and warns the ship away. The next day, men who come to investigate tell him he imagined the Sirens, but he points to their footprints in the sand.
