Uncanny Avengers #20
A moonlit graveyard sets an ominous tone for this 2017 issue, as massive dark tendrils — alive with menace and perched with ravens — snake across tombstones bearing names like Jericho Mumm (Brother Voodoo), Rogue, Nathan Christopher Charles Summers, Janet Van Dyne, and Pietro Maximoff, while a sculpted bust rests atop one of the markers. Adam Kubert's cover work is genuinely haunting, using the cemetery setting and writhing, vein-red shadows to suggest something deeply threatening has come for the Unity Squad. With Gerry Duggan writing and Pepe Larraz on art, "As the World Burns" promises a dark chapter for the Uncanny Avengers.
