“Don't Do the Crime”

This Civil War II tie-in issue arrives with one of 2016's most striking covers: Captain America's star-spangled shield, battered and dripping with what appears to be a dark, corrupting substance, looms in the foreground while a massive armored figure raises a heavy weapon overhead against an ominous green-tinged sky. The imagery radiates tension and consequence, hinting that the Unity Squad's involvement in Marvel's superhero conflict comes at a real cost. Ryan Stegman's bold linework, colored beautifully by Richard Isanove, makes this a visually arresting chapter in Gerry Duggan's run on the title.
