Uncanny Avengers #13

A burst of searing green-yellow energy frames the tension at the heart of this 2013 Marvel series, with Captain America — shield raised and teeth gritted — squaring off against a black-and-white-costumed figure while the winged, blue-skinned Sentry soars overhead and a small Wolverine crouches in the background. John Cassaday's cover composition pulls every eye toward that crackling central confrontation, giving the whole image a sense of imminent collision. Rick Remender and Daniel Acuña's Avengers/X-Men unity team looks anything but unified here.
