Ultimates #18
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe Ultimates #18 marks the first in-story appearance of the Earth-6160 Avengers as a named, assembled team — a significant milestone in Deniz Camp's methodical construction of the new Ultimate Universe's heroic ecosystem. The issue also delivers the death of Midas at America Chavez's hands, closing a major antagonist thread and signaling that the series has entered its final, irreversible phase. As the penultimate arc-builder before the Maker's return from imprisonment in the City, the issue functions as the Ultimate Universe's equivalent of a rallying cry: Tony Stark's planet-wide broadcast transforms the Ultimates from a guerrilla cell into a genuine global resistance movement, a storytelling beat that crystallizes the series' core thesis about power, complicity, and collective action.

The Ultimates Vol. 3 launched in 2024, written by Deniz Camp with art by Juan Frigeri, spinning directly out of Jonathan Hickman and Stefano Caselli's Ultimate Universe #1 and the broader Earth-6160 line overseen by Hickman. Camp has cited JLA and Warren Ellis's Global Frequency as creative touchstones for the series. Issue #18 continues the book's regular creative team of Camp, Frigeri, and letterer Travis Lanham under editor Wil Moss, with cover art by Dike Ruan and Neeraj Menon and variant covers by Adam Pollina, Andrea Sorrentino, and InHyuk Lee.
