Ultimate Spider-Man #63
Part four of the "Carnage" arc lands with a cover that speaks volumes through stillness — Spider-Man crouches in near-total darkness, head bowed and cradling something small and limp in his gloved hands, a pale circle of light framing him from behind like a grim halo. Mark Bagley's cover art turns the wall-crawler's usual kinetic energy completely inward, conveying grief and weight rather than action. Brian Michael Bendis and Bagley's Ultimate Spider-Man continues to show why this reimagined Peter Parker carries an emotional punch unlike any other version of the character.
