Ultimate Spider-Man #12

Part four of "Tainted Love" arrives with one of the more tender covers in this 2010 run — Spider-Man, still in his web-patterned costume, shares a close, intimate embrace and a kiss with a dark-haired young woman wearing glasses, while a framed photograph of the two of them sits in the foreground. David Lafuente's art gives the scene a quiet emotional weight, bathed in cool purples that feel both romantic and a little melancholy. Bendis and Lafuente are clearly leaning into the human side of the wall-crawler just as much as the heroic one.
