Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley produced this issue as the fourth chapter of the Ultimate Clone Saga arc, released on September 27, 2006, with a cover date of November 2006. The issue was edited by Ralph Macchio with John Barber as associate editor under editor-in-chief Joe Quesada, and was produced at 64 pages — double the series' standard page count — as a deliberate celebration of the milestone. Bagley also contributed a 1-in-10 incentive variant cover alongside the main wraparound edition, both colored by Richard Isanove; the issue also included an exclusive behind-the-scenes retrospective on the series featuring Bendis and Bagley.
