Spider-Man ha caído ante Mysterio y su ilusión de Hulk. Semi-inconsciente está a punto de ser desenmascarado cuando interviene el nuevo héroe misterioso encapuchado, quien gana tiempo para que Spidey se recupere y así lo ayuda a vencerlo, logrando que Mysterio se retire con parte de su traje destrozado. La madre de Kitty sorprende a Bobby Drake escondido en su casa y le dice que no puede permanecer ahí. Kitty lo que lo lleva a casa de May Parker quien lo acepta como inquilino. Mysterio descubre rastros de sangre de Spidey sobre su traje y que esto le resulta útil para acabar con su enemigo.
