This issue contains two stories: "Ex-Hotrock," which follows a second lieutenant awed by pilots as a 2nd lieutenant who is forced to confront his overconfidence when a Nazi pilot named Jadl destroys his enemy aircraft, leading to his surrender; and "The Case of the Howling Dog," a prose story narrated by John Peterson, a troubleshooter for Uncle Sam's Counter-Espionage Organization, who is sent on an urgent mission to investigate a dog belonging to Ambassador Henderson that has been howling mysteriously in his home, where an invisible enemy appears to be engaged in heated combat within a sealed room.
