U.S. Air Force Comics #29
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis 1963 Charlton entry in the long-running U.S. Air Force Comics series packs two aerial adventures onto a single striking cover by Dick Giordano — a jet fighter breaking away from enemy MiGs over Korea on the left, and a green bomber pressing through bursting anti-aircraft fire toward the ominously named "Tombstone Mountain" on the right. The split-panel composition captures the intensity of wartime flying from two very different angles, with captions urging pilots to keep going no matter the odds. Written by Joe Gill with interior art by Charles Nicholas and Vince Alascia, it's a solid slice of early-'60s military comics storytelling at a time when aviation action titles were flying off the spinner racks.
