Brüno's stark, high-contrast cover sets the tone immediately: a lone silhouetted figure in a suit and wide-brimmed hat dominates the frame, flanked by snapshots of a desert highway, a coiling snake, and a pale frightened face — all arranged in bold graphic panels against red and black. Fabien Nury's tagline says it all in French: "One day, Tyler Cross will pay for his crimes. In the meantime, he commits more." This 2013 Dargaud release introduces a cool, unrepentant criminal through a visual style that owes as much to pulp noir paperbacks as it does to the best of European crime comics.
