In "The Masquerade Party," Ghost Rider rides into Bison Bend to stop a cattle rustling gang led by Bart, only to find the Tarantula has taken control of the town, demanding protection money from its residents. When Benjamin Brooks refuses to pay, the Night Rider—training young Jamie in his methods—steps in to protect the townspeople, using cunning and the lantern-projector to outwit the villain. Written by Gary Friedrich and Dick Ayers, with art by Dick Ayers and inks by Vince Colletta, this 1971 issue delivers a gritty Western showdown with a supernatural edge, all under a cover by Artie Simek.
