"Tuffy and Clee O'Patra" features Tuffy attending a school event where boys attempt a balancing challenge while watching Clee O'Patra, resulting in all of them falling off their feet, after which Tuffy boasts about her beauty causing the boys to collapse. In "Tuffy and the Little Comedian," Tuffy meets Funny-Boy Freddy, a joke-telling boy who impresses her with his humor and charm; when a boy named Ernie Smootz spreads rumors about Freddy giving him a black eye, Tuffy discovers the truth—that Freddy only colored the eye and was harmless—and Freddy reveals his ambition to become a newspaper delivery boy with a future, impressing Tuffy with his aspirations.
