Troy Nixey wears every creative hat on Trout: Bits & Bobs — writing, drawing, inking, and lettering the whole thing himself, making this 2019 Dark Horse release a genuinely personal vision. The cover pulls you right in with a framed portrait of a wide-eyed bald baby and a tall, sinister gentleman in a bowler hat, while dark tentacle-like limbs snake around the ornate frame and a horned, grimacing creature lurks at the edge. It's the kind of delightfully unsettling imagery that promises the story inside — "Nicky Nicky Nine Doors" — will be equal parts creepy and eccentric.
