Trio #3
John Byrne's Trio charges into its third issue with a cover that puts all three heroes in immediate peril — a rocky, earth-toned powerhouse and a winged silver figure scramble across a debris-strewn landscape while a sleek sword-wielding teammate braces below, all of them dwarfed by a massive, roaring red behemoth whose clawed hands threaten to engulf everything in sight. A fourth figure — a dark-haired woman — watches anxiously from the edge of the frame, grounding the chaos in something personal. Byrne's clean, dynamic linework is in fine form here, and Ronda Pattison's coloring gives the creature a volcanic intensity that makes this one of the series' most visually arresting covers yet.
