The penultimate chapter of this four-part Vertigo miniseries brings together four of DC's most enigmatic occult figures — John Constantine, the Phantom Stranger, Doctor Occult, and Mister E — whose portraits loom watchfully across the painted cover. Center stage is a grotesque, fleshy creature with writhing tendrils and bulging eyeballs cradled in a scarred hand, a deeply unsettling image that fits right in with the chapter's title, "Eyes of the Blind." Glenn Fabry's painted cover work gives the whole ensemble a moody, atmospheric weight that makes this issue — written by John Ney Rieber with interior art by John Ridgway — a compelling entry in one of Vertigo's more darkly imaginative team-up stories.
