Transmetropolitan #60
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe final issue of Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson's celebrated Vertigo series closes with a cover that says it all: three figures — including Spider Jerusalem and his two assistants, with a two-headed cat perched between them — seen through a car windshield as they drive past a sign reading "You Are Now Leaving the City," the smoldering orange skyline of that sprawling, chaotic metropolis receding behind them. Robertson's linework captures a mood that is equal parts relief and melancholy, the city's neon-lit underbelly giving way to open road. It's a genuinely moving farewell image for one of Vertigo's most distinctive and uncompromising series from 2002.
