Darick Robertson's series rolls on with this November 1998 Vertigo entry, but it's Jae Lee's cover art that immediately arrests the eye — a bald, sunglasses-wearing figure levels a revolver at the reader while a massive, leering political face looms from a campaign poster behind him, and a bloodied man clutches a torn photograph of that same grinning candidate to the right. The composition crackles with menace and satirical edge, perfectly suited to the story's title, "Year of the Bastard, Part 3: Smile." Warren Ellis, Darick Robertson, and Rodney Ramos keep the sharp, furious energy of this series running strong at issue fifteen.
