“The Claw dupe Hitler !”

In "The Claw dupe Hitler!", a bizarre global wave of submarine disappearances sends FBI agent Amos Dobbs racing to the doorstep of reclusive tech magnate Hugh Hazzard. With a state-of-the-art naval vessel set to launch the next day and a shadowy sabotage ring still at large, Dobbs and Hazzard must rally a crew from Annapolis before the next wave of chaos hits. Written by George Brenner and Jean Depelley, with art and inks by Brenner and colors by Reed Man, this surreal thriller unfolds with a sleek, unsettling precision — and a cover by Reed Man that captures its eerie, off-kilter tone.

In one week, four submarines, two of them American, are mysteriously lost at sea. An FBI agent, Amos Dobbs, shows up at Hugh Hazzard’s very upscale apartment building, and tells Hugh about his investigation into the world-wide submarine sabotage ring. The problem is that the Navy’s newest and most modern submarine is set to be launched the next day, at noon, and Dobbs is certain that the bad guys have it targeted. So Dobbs wants to get Admiral Hull at Annapolis to recruit that submarine's crew from there, and Hull goes along with that plan.
