Toyfare: The Toy Magazine #99

Nov 2005 · Wizard Entertainment · 4.99 USD; 6.99 CAD

A surreal, offbeat twist on Middle-earth sees Sauron scrambling to track down Frodo, only to be misled by an Oompaloompa, while a parade of bizarre encounters—including a visit from Oz’s floating head, a Dementor drop-off of Gary Oldman, and a shared screening of *Revenge of the Sith*—unravel his plans. Written by Pat McCallum, Zach Oat, Justin Aclin, Jon Gutierrez, Andrew Kardon, and Chris Ward, this wildly imaginative issue blends absurd humor with the familiar lore of Tolkien’s world.

Sauron is trying to find Frodo. The Mouth of Sauron thinks he found him, but it is really an Oompaloompa. Gothmog gives a battle report and turns over Andy Dick. The Ringwraiths bring him Arnold Jackson. Sauron's eye needs some Visine. The crows poop on him and a Jehovah's Witness comes by. Oz's floating head visits. Dementors drop-off Gary Oldman, and they watch Revenge of the Sith together, until Sauron recognizes Dooku as Sarumon. He tries to call him, but he dies. When he tries to contact the Ringwraiths, he alerts the Fellowship to their presence, and allows them to be beaten.
