After a failed audition at the Defenders’ telethon, he attempts a rescue that ends in a crash with Franklin and the Quinjet. The Lizard decides he isn't cut out to be a super-villain. He tries out new identities and settles on Captain Spectacular. He has the ability to regenerate. He decides to join the Defenders, who are holding a telethon, but then they kick him out. He "saves" Franklin from Electro, but then they are both squashed by the Quinjet.
