“Trapped”

The penultimate issue of Joe Kubert's six-part series closes with a cover that says everything you need to know about prehistoric survival — a massive theropod dinosaur lunges over a cliff edge, jaws wide open and dripping, as Tor dangles desperately from a vine just out of reach below. Subtitled "Trapped," the image is rendered with Kubert's unmistakable linework, every claw and fang given raw, tactile weight. It's a fitting showcase for a series where one creator — writing, drawing, inking, and lettering throughout — poured an entire prehistoric world onto the page.
