From 1940 comes this ten-cent thrill from MLJ's Top-Notch Comics, featuring The Wizard — "The Man with the Super-Brain" — in a dynamic cover by Edd Ashe that puts the masked, blue-suited hero front and center as chaos erupts around him: crumbling structures, explosions, and figures sent flying in the mayhem. All 64 full-color pages promise a packed anthology, with feature strips including Streak Chandler on Mars, Dick Storm in South America, Wings Johnson of the Air Patrol, and The Westpointer rounding out the lineup alongside interior art by Mort Meskin. A wonderful snapshot of the early Golden Age, when superhero anthologies were bursting with imagination and variety.
