Charlton's Hanna-Barbera licensed series rolls on with this January 1971 entry, featuring Ray Dirgo's cheerful cover of Top Cat — dressed to the nines in his signature purple suit, hat, and shades — chatting on a red telephone while a thought bubble floats above revealing a smitten purple cat. A second purple feline stands nearby looking equally love-struck, cane in hand, setting a playfully romantic mood that promises plenty of the scheming charm TC is known for. With Joe Gill scripting and Ray Dirgo handling the full art chores inside, "Worst of the Breed" looks like a fine slice of lighthearted alley-cat comedy at a cool fifteen cents.
