Tom Mix stumbles onto a sinister mystery when a rancher claims a creature with flaming red eyes is stampeding his cattle off the cliffs—and the enigmatic magician Bonzo from the circus may know more than he's letting on. With whispers of a were-wolf haunting the range and suspicious activity around the circus lot, Tom has to uncover the truth before more cattle vanish and the truth about the creature is revealed.
Tom Mix smells trouble when a mysterious note tied to an arrow warns of a Comanche uprising—but his suspicions deepen when he realizes the whole thing might be a cover for something far more sinister. Teaming up with Jane and the crusty old ranch hands Sleepy Sam Davis and Weepy Williams, Tom must stop a clever scheme to rob a gold-laden stagecoach while a ruthless criminal known as Scar-Face Joe plays both sides from the shadows.
