“March of the Flowers”

From Dell's long-running MGM adaptation comes this 1958 entry in the beloved series, with a cover by Harvey Eisenberg that captures the duo's eternal rivalry in fine form. Tom clings to a swinging tire while Jerry and a smaller mouse — clinging to a pair of pliers dangling below — taunt him from just out of reach, the whole scene teetering with that perfect mix of menace and mischief. At just a dime, it's a charming snapshot of mid-century funny-animal comics at their most playful.
