“Ball Catcher”

In "Ball Catcher," Flip and Dip's attempt to safely swim in a jungle pool takes a slippery turn when they trap a lobster to keep it from pinching them—only for Mom to turn the creature into supper. The lobster’s unexpected fate serves up a twist neither kid saw coming, proving even the smallest creature can outwit the biggest plans. Art by Ken Champin and a cover by Harvey Eisenberg bring the antics to life in this 1955 Dell classic.

Flip and Dip trap a lobster so that they might swim in a jungle pool without getting caught by the lobster's claws. Mom sees the trapped lobster and cooks it for the family's supper. But, even as the main course on the Monkeys' menu, the lobster has the last laugh on the kids who caught him.
