Titans #2

Part of DC Universe Rebirth's wave of 2016 titles, this second issue of Titans delivers a cover that immediately sets a sinister tone: Wally West, Arsenal, Robin, Tempest, Donna Troy, and two other teammates are suspended like marionettes from a looming puppeteer's control bar, strings and wooden joints replacing their heroic autonomy. Brett Booth and Norm Rapmund render the whole team utterly helpless, strung up against a cool blue void that makes the threat feel vast and inescapable. Dan Abnett's "Smoke and Mirrors" storyline is clearly pulling some dangerous strings, and this image alone makes turning to the first page feel urgent.
