“The World Stops”

Part of DC Universe Rebirth's 2017 wave, Titans #16 opens the "The World Stops" arc with a cover that sets an ominous tone: a battered, half-suited Wally West strides forward through a storm-lashed graveyard, lightning crackling around him, while a tombstone bearing the Flash's lightning-bolt symbol and the words "Here Lies the Flash" looms in the foreground. Behind him, the rest of the Titans team — Nightwing, Donna Troy, Arsenal, and their teammates — face what appears to be a massive, swirling Speed Force eruption tearing apart the sky. Brett Booth's pencils and Jay Leisten's inks bring real urgency to the scene, making this one of the more striking covers of the Rebirth era.
