“The Mad Maestro!”

In "The Mad Maestro!", Mr. Biltybux, the owner of a struggling circus, decides to go incognito to observe his troupe firsthand. Disguised as a clown, he's quickly thrown out by the gruff circus boss Snark—only to be reinstated when Bombo reveals his true identity. Written, drawn, and inked by Bernard Dibble, this 1949 tale from Tip Top Comics #152 blends humor and irony as the wealthy owner takes a turn in the spotlight, enduring the very treatment he once imposed.

Mr. Biltybux visits the circus he owns. He tells Bombo that he wants to look around, incognito. Tippy arranges for Biltybux to become a member of the clown troupe. Circus boss Snark throws Biltybux out but apologises when Bombo informs him that the new "clown" is the owner. Biltybux agrees not to fire Snark but forces him to endure abuse as a temporary clown to learn humility.
