Timmy the Timid Ghost #40
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis issue contains two stories: "Field Mice," in which Timmy the Timid Ghost encounters a pair of field mice who have made a home in the public library and helps convince them to relocate rather than scare Miss Nibbles and the patrons; and "Ookie and Olaf," a text story about a young zoo keeper named Tom Simpson who works with Squeaky the Squirrel to solve a problem involving two walruses named Ookie and Olaf at the city zoo, ultimately arranging for them to be moved to a new location where they can be happy.
When two mice take over the public library to study up on nature, it's up to Timmy and his friends to figure out how to stop them—though Timmy seems more worried about getting his overdue book stamped before facing a one-cent fine. As traps, cheese, and sleeping gas all backfire spectacularly, the gang discovers the real reason the mice are causing such a fuss, and a conversation might just solve the whole problem. This charming 1963 tale proves that even a timid ghost can be brave when a library fine is on the line.
Timmy the Timid Ghost gets a surprise when a visiting king from Transpatria arrives at the dude ranch for a taste of the Old West—but the royal guest proves to be as difficult as he is demanding. When danger strikes from an unexpected quarter, Timmy must decide whether to help someone he can't stand, leading to an unlikely friendship and a pair of new knights of Transpatria.
Timmy and his friends arrive as tourists in Labodia, only to discover they're being overcharged at every turn—so they decide to blend in by adopting local fashions and customs. Their disguise scheme works a little too well when a local official mistakes them for the notorious bandit El Chumbo and his gang. A lighthearted lesson in cultural adaptation and the perils of going undercover ensues.
